Selling wine on the internet is not easy

>> Wednesday, July 13, 2005

Every once in a while you see an new internet shop that tries and sell wine. That it is not very easy to do that profitably is well illustrated by the story of American wine site Wine.com that we noted in the Brief a while back has just started a collaboration with Amazon.com. Do I need to obtain any type of licensing to sell wine and food items I prepare at home online? (I am a professional chef.)

That would depend on the country you are active in... I would think it is entirely different in for example the US, the UK and Sweden - as examples. (in Sweden it would certainly not be permitted to sell "home made" wine - even for a professional chef)
