Surplus of grapes in California .... or shortage?

Sometimes it is difficult to know what to believe. One day we read that it is expected that 2005 will prove to be a record vintage (in volume) in Sonoma and that it will lead to plummeting prices. Next day we read that there are fears for a grape shortage… But the shortage is supposedly only for selected, high-in-demand grapes.
